It has become clear the Java has been left out of the Rich Internet discussion. Ajax – check, Flash – check, Java – ?huh?. Why is this? There are many reasons, some valid, but most based on misconception, past issues, and incorrect usage. Outside of the web, Java is one of the most widely used programming languages (5,000,000+) developers and the basis for most enterprise development. Software projects such as; Eclipse, jBoss, tomcat, all the j2EE web frameworks, mobile phones, and on and on are the result of Java’s ability to deliver high quality applications.
